Matchmo joins The Affordable Housing Summit 2022

The Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP) held the Affordable Housing Summit 2022 in Cebu and Bohol last October 12-14, 2022, with the theme Uplifting the lives of every Juan.

(OSHDP) saw opportunities in both regions due to its booming real estate and tourism industry.

Cebu is regarded as one of the wealthiest provinces in the country. This region has transformed into a global hub for business processing services, tourism, shipping, furniture making, and heavy industry. Cebu is also the leading real estate hub in Central Visayas, while Bohol is a center for residential and tourist-oriented real estate development projects.

The three-day affordable housing summit is one of the most anticipated events in the real estate industry in the Philippines. It brings together a group of experts and key leaders to address issues, find solutions, and share innovations and best practices in the industry. It began in Cebu City with an outreach activity with Set Forth Philippines, followed by a fellowship golf tournament which was attended by the officers and members of OSHDP. Housing talks and project site visits were also conducted on the first day.

OSHDP’s Director, Ms. Fiona King, formally opened the housing convention and welcomed Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama and Vice Mayor Raymond Garcia as the honorary guest speakers. They shared their perspectives on major industry issues, especially on public housing for the Cebuanos. They also shared insights regarding the rising prices of construction materials, inflation, and fiscal measures that could impact loan interest rates.
